9. Twin-row increases the healthy ear count.

  • Two factors determine healthy ear count…
  • The first is overall plant health.  Has it been stressed, or is it anchored to a large root system and a healthy stalk?
  • The second is the population. In single row 30, 36, or 38” corn once the plants get too close together, they become naturally stressed and fight each other for moisture and nutrients.  
  • Twin-row addresses both problems by better plant spacing. The next generation drought tolerant corns are going to allow for higher populations and only twin-row will provide for proper root growth at these new population levels.
